Leadway unveils short-term insurance pack for visitors

Leadway Assurance has unveiled the Leadway Arrival Pack, a short-term insurance solution targeting visitors to Nigeria and businesses serving them during peak seasons.

Kikelomo Fischer, Executive Director, Retail and Partnership, Leadway Assurance, announced the initiative in a statement on Sunday.

Fischer said international passenger movements into Nigeria rose from 4.33 million in 2024 to 4.85 million in 2025, representing about 12 per cent growth.

She said the increase in international travel, diaspora homecomings, business visits and tourism had heightened exposure to unexpected risks.

According to her, traditional insurance products were often structured around longer-term coverage, leaving people on brief visits with limited protection options.

She said the Arrival Pack was developed to bridge the gap by providing accessible and temporary insurance protection for short-term stays.

“Our primary objective in launching the Arrival Pack is to ensure that coming into Nigeria for a temporary visit or stay is defined by greater peace of mind,” Fischer said.

She said the product was designed for diaspora Nigerians, business travellers, tourists, students and other short-term visitors.

Fischer added that businesses catering to temporary visitors could also benefit from the product, particularly during periods of heightened travel and commercial activity.

She said the solution was intended to provide greater protection and peace of mind for visitors and businesses serving them.

“The need for flexible, temporary insurance solutions has become increasingly important with increasing international travel, diaspora homecomings, business visits and tourism activity,” she said.

Fischer said the 2026 festive season, particularly December, would serve as the flagship period for the product.

She explained that December was expected to record increased travel, homecomings, events and commercial activities across the country.

She added that the product would also be available during other seasonal peaks, including Easter and Eid celebrations.

Fischer said the initiative reflected Leadway Assurance’s commitment to developing insurance solutions around changing customer needs and patterns.

She said those changing patterns included how people travel, live, conduct business and spend shorter periods away from their usual locations.
