2027: Uzodimma inaugurates Imo APC campaign council

Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo, on Monday, inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council to secure victory for the party in the 2027 General Elections in the state.

In a speech at the event, which took place at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre, Owerri, Uzodimma charged the members to mobilise voters across all the communities.

He urged the council to approach their appointment as a national service, requiring discipline, strategic unity, and active grassroots engagement.

“Our campaign council must establish an active presence at the local government, ward, and polling unit levels,” the governor said.

He urged the candidates at all levels to operate as a unified team to effectively communicate the transformative achievements of the ruling party to the electorate.

He affirmed his commitment to strengthening political structures in the state to support President Bola Tinubu’s development agenda and ensure total electoral victory for him.

Earlier, the APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, said the primary goal of the council was strictly to win all the elective positions.

“The mandate before us is clear: to secure victory in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly elections,” Arodiogbu said.

Also speaking, the state Chairman of the party, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, directed the council members to immediately initiate door-to-door campaign across the 27 local government areas.

“This council is not a ceremonial body. Our message must reach every community with discipline and respect for the people,” Onyedebelu said.

Responding on behalf of the members, Chief Chris Okewulonu assured the party leadership of their readiness to execute their mandate without compromise.

It was reported that the event was attended by Deputy Governor, Mrs Chinyere Ekomaru, federal and state lawmakers, local government chairmen, and other key party stakeholders.
