Man, 26, docked over alleged attempt to commit felony

A 26-year-old man, Seyi Adekeye, on Tuesday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, over an alleged attempt to commit felony.

Adekeye, whose address was not provided, was charged with attempt to commit felony to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, ASP Olagoke Adegbenro, said the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 1, at about 5.44 a.m, at Ologuneru, Ibadan.

Adegbenro alleged that the defendant attempted to commit felony with cutlass in his hand with an intent to steal at Freedom Estate, Ologuneru.

According to him, the offence contravenes Section 509 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She held that the sureties must be blood relations to the defendant and adjourned the case until Oct. 20, for mention.
