2027: Tinubu tasks City Boy Movement on youth mobilisation

President Bola Tinubu has urged the City Boy Movement (CBM) to intensify youth mobilisation nationwide, saying the 2027 election is about Nigerian youths’ future rather than any candidate.

Tinubu spoke on Monday when he met with the movement’s national leadership at the State House, Abuja.

“Nigeria must win this election before any candidate does.

“You are not campaigning for me. You are campaigning for your own future,” the President said.

Tinubu said the future he envisioned was one of renewed hope, adding that the economy is growing steadily.

“The economy is growing steadily. You will have a future, a future to believe in,” he said.

The President assured the group that Nigeria would not be set back.

“There’s nothing that will push us back.

“What I’ve seen here tonight is the fact that your hope, my hope, has been renewed.”

It was reported that the CBM is a youth-driven political advocacy organisation supporting Tinubu’s administration and re-election bid.

Earlier, the group’s Director-General, Francis Shoga, reiterated its commitment to mobilising 10 million Nigerians for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Shoga said the organisation had registered 4.6 million members on its national database and engaged more than 50,000 young Nigerians through its Renewed Hope Youth Tour across the six geopolitical zones.

Speaking on the theme, “Youth, Unity, Action: Building a Stronger and More Prosperous Nigeria,” he said the movement would translate its growing membership and grassroots presence into electoral support for Tinubu.

He also commended the President for his reforms and economic policies.

The event was attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, top government officials, ministers, youth organisations and All Progressives Congress  stalwarts, among others.
