EPL: Havertz fires Arsenal to 1-0 win at Anfield

German Striker, Kai Havertz, scored the only goal for Arsenal as they won 1-0 against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Champions Arsenal took the lead in the 16th minute when Havertz tapped in a low cross from Declan Rice after Liverpool failed to play the ball out of defence.

Liverpool came close to equalising twice with Florian Wirtz curling a free kick against the crossbar and Alexis Mac Alister heading a good chance over the bar.

But Mikel Arteta’s side held on and defended superbly to seal their first Premier League win at Anfield in 14 years.

The win puts Arsenal on the top of the table with 24 points, replacing Manchester City who are on 21 points after losing at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

The defeat leaves Liverpool nine points behind Arsenal in fifth place.bbbhh
