Scores of Muslims Friday reportedly killed in the city of Kano after an unidentified suicide bomber detonated explosives during a Shia Muslim procession.

The blast took place in the village of Dakasoye, about 51km south of Kano, Nigeria’s second largest commercial city.

The suicide bomber reportedly disguised among the Shiite followers who were processing to Zaria in commemoration of one of their festivals.

Although the Police in Kano State are yet to make an official statement on the attack, the leader of the movement in Kano, Sheikh Muhammad Turi, told our correspondent that his followers apprehended one of the suspects who have been handed over to the Police.

This attack came barely a week after a suicide bomb attack at the popular GSM market in the city.
