Airtel offers 100% value of recharge

Lily Kudzro, a 27 year-old social entrepreneur last weekend emerged winner of the Airtel Nigeria sponsored Prize in Education award at The Future Awards 2015.

The young Ghanaian social entrepreneur won the category which had Cynthia Onwuchuruba from Nigeria and three others, namely: Josephine Marie Godwyll, Abena Agyemang and Maccathy Lomotey as nominees.

The Telco noted that the decision to throw its weight behind the Future Awards 2015 and endow the Prize in Education was influenced by its corporate philosophy of enriching lives and promoting wealth creation through support for education. It is also its way of encouraging African youths towards academic greatness and contributing positively to society.

Receiving the Airtel’s Prize in Education award, Kudzro expressed appreciation to Airtel Nigeria and the organisers of the award for recognizing the potentials in African youths.

She said: I am excited about winning the Future Awards Africa 2015 Prize in Education. And I say a big thank you to Airtel Nigeria for endowing the education category. Africa needs more corporate organisations to throw their weight behind such course and other important issue. Africa needs you, Africa needs all of us.”

Kudzro owns Devio Arts Centre, a social enterprise initiative, where she uses creative and digital art as a catalyst, to stimulate constructive learning and creative thinking in Ghanaian children. The centre tackles creativity in communities and helps to build creative life skills through programs that bring experts from the working field, and makes use of technology to engage and train students on current trends.

She believes that children and young people can create and inspire their own future and can become change- makers in their communities. Kudzro hopes to impact 100,000 African students within the next 5 years.

Airtel, through its CSR initiative tagged Adopt-a-School programme, has consistently supported several primary schools in Nigeria.
