Company drags Adamawa govt to court over breach of agreement

A company, Scenic Associates Limited, has dragged Adamawa state Government before a Yola High Court over breach of contractual agreement.

The company dragged Adamawa state Government, Attorney General of the state and A.K Dasin and Sons Limited as 1st, 2nd and 3rd defendants in the suit.

The company which was awarded a contract of N28.7 million to construct two gates at the Jimeta Modern Market alleged that the state government violated the contractual agreement by awarding same contract to the 3rd defendant.

The company in its claims against the defendants requested for an order of the restitution of the contract and the payment of N5 million as general damages alongside N2.5 million spent as architectural fee.

It also requested for another N1.5 million and N1.4 million as monies spent on engaging quantity surveyors and legal fee for solicitors handling the case for the plaintiff alongside “any better orders the court may deem fit to make in circumstance of this case”.

The case which came on for mention before Justice Ambrose Mammadi was adjourned to January 12 for further mention/hearing.
