Ekiti ex-Reps member denies decamping to APC
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Ekiti State, Hon Adeyemi Orilele on Monday denied planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Orilele, who represented the Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II in the fourth House of Representatives, said in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, that those who included his name among those they were expecting to decamp to APC were only wasting their time.
Orilele, said he was totally in support of the government of Governor Ayodele Fayose.
He noted that as a loyal party man, he will remain in the PDP and continue to support the governor.
He said there was nothing untoward in the PDP in Ekiti State that will warrant his leaving the party, adding that; “Even if anyone wants to leave PDP for another party in Ekiti, is it a factionalised APC that will be the option?
“As at today, there are six factions in the APC in Ekiti State. Which faction will anyone going to join the party join? Is it the Action Group faction, Eyi Yato faction, Irewolede faction or Integrity faction?”
He advised any PDP member contemplating defecting to the APC to be mindful of taking step that will lead them to political obscurity, saying; “I wonder how possible it is for the APC to hand over its governorship ticket to a decampee from PDP.”
