Bagudu of Kebbi reiterates commitment to curb desert encroachment
Kebbi Gov. Atiku Bagudu has reiterated the commitment of the state government to protect the environment and fight desert encroachment.
Bagudu said this when he inspected on going projects including the uncompleted 500 capacity female hostel and a Borehole at the College of Education located in Argungu.
A statement by Alhaji Abubakar Muazu,the press secretary to the governor in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday quotes Bagudu as saying his administration will ensure prompt payment of executed projects.
He also said that additional projects would be provided in institution.
He urged the students to plant trees and nurture it to fruition to support his administration in the creation of green areas and beautification of cities and urban centers.
The acting provost, Aliyu Muhammad, who conducted the governor on the inspection of the projects said that the management would monitor the projects to ensure proper execution.
He also assured that the management would support each student to plant and nurture two trees to ensure environmental protection.
A cross section of the students expressed hope that the on going projects would be completed on time.
