FG renews Bello’s appointment as CEO, Shippers’ Council
The Federal Government has approved the renewal of the appointment of Mr Hassan Bello as the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), for another four-year tenure.
A statement by the Director, Special Duties of the NSC, Mr Ignatius Nweke, on Friday in Lagos, said the renewal was communicated to the council through a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Alhaji Sabiu Zakari.
According to Nweke, the letter stated that the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo had approved the renewal of Bello’s appointment “for another four-year tenure effective from June 20, 2017 to June 19, 2021’’.
The letter said that the renewal was in accordance with the relevant sections of the Shippers’ Council Act, Cap 133, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
It was reported that in 2013, Bello was appointed as the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the NSC, following the expiration of the tenure of Capt. Adamu Biu, the then Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer.
