Court terminates marriage on grounds of lack of love

A Sharia Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, on Wednesday terminated a marriage between Bilkisu Bawale and Bello Musa on grounds of lack of love.

Delivering Judgment, the Judge, Nuhu Falalu also ordered Bawale to return the N20, 000 bride price she received from Musa.

Earlier, Bawale, through her counsel, M.B. Alhassan, said his client seeks divorce from her husband because she no longer have any affection or love for him.

“Musa did not do anything wrong to me. Infact he has fulfilled all his responsibilities as a husband. I lacked nothing but the love and affection is no longer there,” she said.

“I will not want to continue the marriage because I will not obey him and the wrath of God may fall on me for not obeying his instructions,” she said.

The defendant, Musa, through his counsel, Usman Nda-Liman, obliged to the petitioner’s request.
