Yobe College of Education provost dies at 53

Dr Mohammad Gishiwa, Provost, Umar Suleiman College of Education, Gashua, is dead.

Gishiwa, 53, died on Sunday while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kano, following injuries sustained in a car accident on Oct. 4.

Mr Hassan Bulama, Deputy Provost of the college, confirmed the death to our correspondent in Damaturu on Monday.

Bulama said that the deceased would be buried at about 2:00 pm in Gashua.

Also, Alhaji Ali Gishiwa, a brother to the deceased, said that arrangements were on to convey the remains of the decease to Gashua for burial.

It was reported that Gishiwa was appointed Provost in 2016, and he was serving his second tenure at the time of his death.
