ANAN honours Military Pension Board Chair for accountable leadership

Chairman, Military Pension Board (MPB), Commodore Sabiru Lawal, has bagged the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria’s award for Accountable Leadership, in recognition of his outstanding leadership at the board.

The board’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Flt.-Lt. Olayinka Lawal, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.

He said that the award was presented to Lawal by the association during the celebration of 2021 International Accountants’ Day in Abuja.

The award, he said, was in recognition of the MPB chairman’s style of leadership which had instituted accountability, transparency and prompt payment of entitlements to pensioners or their next of kins.

The PRO quoted Lawal, in his acceptance speech, as expressing appreciation to ANAN for finding him worthy of the award, in recognition of his leadership style at the board.

He also thanked the staff members of the board for their roles in ensuring effect discharge of its constitutional mandate.

The MPB chairman assured the association that he would not relent in his efforts at ensuring prompt payment of pensions and gratuities as well as other entitlements in an accountable manner.
