Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti has urged members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be peaceful during the primary election slated for Thursday.

It was reported that the primary election would hold across 177 wards in the state ahead of the June 18 governorship election.

Fayemi made the call in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode, on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti.

He applauded the aspirants for their great efforts at mobilising for the ruling party and peaceful campaign.

“I commend our aspirants for a well-conducted campaign and their great efforts at mobilising for our party,” he said.

The governor who assured them of adequate security arrangement, urged the residents of the state to go about their daily activities without fear of intimidation.

Fayemi enjoined party members and officials that would be involved in the primary election to go about it peacefully.

“I implore our party members and supporters to ensure that the process holds peacefully,” he said.
