Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo has sacked Prof, Benson Osadolor, the Acting Vice Chancellor(VC) of the State-owned Ambrose Allli University, Ekpoma.
Osadolor’s sack is contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Osarodion Ogie in Benin.
The governor said the sack is with immediate effect.
No reason was give for Osadolor’s removal.
The state government named Prof. Sunny Adagbonyi as the institution’s acting VC.
”The governor in the exercise of his powers under the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Law and the Special Intervention Law, 2021, has relieved Prof. Osadolor of his appointment as acting VC of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma with effect from Tuesday.”
“The governor, in his capacity as Visitor to the University, has further approved the immediate appointment of Prof. Adagbonyi as acting Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Theo O. Agueda as acting Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Administration and Prof. Marshall Azeke as acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics.”
“The governor thanks Prof. Osadolor for his service and wishes him well in his future endeavours,” he said.
Our correspondent Obaseki in Nov. 5, 2021, dissolved the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and appointed Prof. Osadolor, as Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution.
