Marwa tasks military officers on book writing

The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcent Agency (NDLEA), Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, (Retd) has called on military officers to imbibe the culture of book writing.

Marwa made the call during the launch and public presentation of a book, titled: “Analytical Framework for Applying Critical Thinking to Operational Planning and Resolving Insurgency with Net Assessment”, on Tuesday in Abuja.

The book, written by AVM Sayo Olatunde, the Commandant of the Nigerian Air Force War College, was reviewed by Malam Yushau Shuaib, the Publisher, PR Nigeria.

The NDLEA boss said he had over the years, encouraged military officers to engage in book writing, to expand the frontiers of their knowledge in the services.

He said book writing had always been his expectations from military officers, adding that, the military had been in the forefront of research and development throughout contemporary history.

Marwa said the military had over the years, excelled in research, discoveries and innovations, especially in the areas of medicine and technology.

He commended the author of the book, whom he said, is a brilliant military professional, pilot, author, instructor, thinker and strategist.

Marwa said the book was a brilliant contribution to knowledge, and an essential seminar work for national security.

In his remarks, the reviewer said the focus of the book, was on strategic critical thinking, especially in military operations.

He said the 337 pages book, with 12 chapters, was a timely material to guide decision makers, especially in counter insurgency operations.

Shuaib said the book was not only good for military officers, but also intelligence and policy makers, as it provided practical solutions to policy making process.

He said the book had recommended three critical thinking for every decision making, to give room for good analysis on how to carry out the operations.

Speaking, the author, said his focus in writing the book was to address some of the problems discovered in the planning and management of military operations.
