Tinubu pledges jobs creation, economic development in Bayelsa rally
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday promised to create new jobs to ensure economic prosperity, if given the mandate in 2023 poll.
Tinibu said this in Yenagoa at the APC presidential rally.
“Prosperity is here, that employment you yearn for will be back, that happiness is here, that high prices will go.
“Where we are, one of the world industrious, one of the most blessed with mineral resources that this country explores.
“Who would have prevented you from this time and from that time? Poverty is what the governing party today is giving you. You know it, they have collected your derivation money and are telling you cock and bull stories.
“Where is the preventive measures, from soaking and drowning in flood, so far, it is about time you change the bed, they make you a promise that they will not fulfill,” he said.
The presidential candidate added: “Where is the road initiated by Yakubu Gowan, where is the East-West Road? Where is the opportunity for broadband, where is their head? Where are their brains?
“I will create thousands of skill jobs, I promise you, a technical hub that will give you a lifetime opportunity.”
He also pledged to tackle flooding and its associated challenges if elected as the president.
In his remarks, Chief Timipre Sylva, the Minister for Petroleum Resources, described Bayelsa as an APC state, saying that the party won the last governorship poll with wide margins but lost its mandate in court due to some technicalities.
He said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led administration in the state has worsen the poverty level in the state, as it was ranked as the second poorest in Nigeria.
Sylva, a former governor of the state described Tinubu’s presidency as the best thing that can happen to Nigeria.
He said that other candidates have no credentials to govern Nigeria.
