Reports indicate that a man, Mohammed Amao, has Maiduguri after Boko Haram militants attacked his village, Sabon Geri, Maiduguri, Biorno State.

Mohammed had, after his father’s death, relocated to the northern part of Nigeria with his family to stay with his old mother.

“I help with her farm livestocks. However, most times, there are usual attacks from Boko Haram attacks who rob the farm and take away animal produce and animals in the community and sometimes ask for land tax.

This case of Boko haram attack was reported to the police station by myself when I could not continue to bear the financial loss and threat,” Mohammed told reporters.

He stated that on 3th February 2024, Nigerian soldiers responded and attacked the militants and killed two while some were arrested; the incident which reportedly happened on his farm yard.

However, after the soldiers had left, the Boko Haram militants again attacked the community and the farms around, shouting his name that he was responsible for that soldier’s attack; while threatening to spill his blood.

He pointed out that people were forced to alert him that he needed to leave because the militants were mentioning his name for assassination.

“They burnt my house, cars, farms and properties and some villagers were killed that day too. So, I flew with my family to a nearby town and from there to Abuja,” he stated.

“During the attack, we ran away believing that Aisha, one of my daughters (5 years) was with my grandma. Unfortunately, we were later told by community friends and grandma that she was taken away by Boko Haram,” he added.
