“On Thursday, morning thunderstorms are expected over Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states, with afternoon thunderstorms over Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Gombe, and Bauchi states.

“The North-central region will see mostly sunny skies with isolated thunderstorms in parts of Benue, Kogi, and Kwara.”

It said Friday’s forecast includes morning thunderstorms over Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna states, with afternoon storms in the same areas.

It also said the North-central region would have sunny skies with clouds and localised afternoon thunderstorms in Plateau, Nasarawa, FCT, Benue, and Kogi.

NiMet warned that strong winds might precede thunderstorms and advised the public to take precautions such as fastening loose objects, avoiding driving in heavy rain, disconnecting electrical appliances, and staying away from tall trees.

“Airline operators are advised to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet for flight planning. Residents should stay updated through NiMet’s official channels or website at www.nimet.gov.ng.
