Police arraign man, 34, for allegedly stealing cell phone worth N450,000

The police on Thursday arraigned a 34-year-old man, Prince Eyo, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing cell phone valued at N450,000.
Eyo, of no fixed address, was charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Olagoke Adegbenro told the court that the defendant committed the offences on May 12, at Agodi area of Ibadan.
Adegbenro said the defendant stole one iPhone worth N450,000 and N12,000 cash belonging to the complainant, Mrs Yemisi Popoola.
He alleged that the defendant stole the phone and money from Popoola inside a tricycle while they were in transit.
He said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties in like sum.
