INEC commences distribution of PVC’s in Bayelsa
The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) has commenced the commencement of distribution of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) for the first phase across the eight Local Government Areas of Bayelsa.
Malam Isah Shaka, the INEC, Residential Electoral Commissioner (REC) disclosed this during a news conference in his office at Swali, Yenegoa.
Shaka, explained that the cards are for voters who registered or applied for transfer of their hitherto voting locations in the first phase of Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise conducted between August and December 2025.
“Distribution will start from Oct. 9 to Oct. 15, from 9am to 3pm daily with Saturday and Sunday inclusive at 105 wards across Bayelsa.”
He said Brass area received 6,211 PVC’s, Ekermor received 12,023 PVC’s Nembe received 3,620 PVC’s Kolokoma/Opokoma received 3,712 PVC’s Ogbia 3,132 PVC’s Sagbama received 10,080 PVC’s Yenegoa received 6,332 PVC’s and Southern Ijaw also received 7,115 PVC’s respectively
The REC, said voters who registered since 2011 to 2022 in any of the CVR exercise and did not collect their PVC’s could visit any of INEC offices in there LGAs for collection.
Shake advised registered voters to check their names on the displayed registers (NRV) and verify their polling units before collecting their PVC’s at their respective coalition centres in person in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.
