Fire outbreak: Stanbic IBTC restates commitment to safety of customers, others
The management of Stanbic IBTC Group has restated its commitment to ensuring safety and security of its clients, customers, visitors, and employees.
This is followed a disaster that brewed recently when a branch of the Bank at Abesan Gate, Ipaja, Lagos, caught fire with properties worth millions of naira lost in the inferno.
The Group in a statement to NEWSVERGE confirmed the fire incident at Ipaja branch of the bank thereafter applauded the relevant emergency teams for a speedy response to the fire which was effectively contained.
In the statement, “Although properties were damaged in the cause of the fire, there was no loss of life.
“Our top priority at all of our facilities at all times remains the safety and security of our clients, customers, visitors, and employees.”
NEWSVERGE report that a Police officers attached to the building discovered the fire which started at about 3.30 p.m through a truck discharging diesel into the bank’s generator plant.
The officer narrated that a hose was already attached from the tanker to the generator and in the course of discharging the product, a loud sound was heard from the truck.
The Police officer also said that consequently, the fire escalated where several cars in the building were gutted by the fire.
The Police officer confirmed that no life was lost, saying that all the staff and workers in the building escaped.
