Gov. Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti says he has committed the state to God’s hands for direction and guidance.

Oyebanji stated this on Monday in Ado-Ekiti during a brief prayer session at the Government House Chapel.

The prayer session was attended by his wife, Folake, family members and officials, including the Head of Service, Mr Bamidele Agbede.

The governor said he felt the need to kick-start his first day at work with a short prayer session and committing the entire assignment into God’s hands.

After the 30 minutes church service, Oyebanji walked to his office where he had his first meeting with members of the Ekiti State caucus of the National Assembly.

He also held meetings with the deputy governor, Mrs Monisade Afuye, and with principal officers of the state’s House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Mr Funminiyi Afuye.

It was reported that the Head of Service and some top government officials also attended the meeting.

Oyebanji was sworn in as Ekiti governor on Sunday.
