President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the family of Mr Theophilus Akinyele, former Presidential Adviser on Budget to late President Shehu Shagari, over his demise.

Buhari, in a condolence message signed by his media aide, Garba Shehu, urged loved ones left behind to find solace in the fact that the deceased lived well and contributed immensely to humanity and national development.

Akinyele served as Permanent Secretary in the ministries of agriculture and finance of the old Western Region and as Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife.

He also served as secretary to a military government and Head of Civil Service of Oyo State.

The statement quoted Buhari as commending Akinyele for serving his fatherland meritoriously, using the knowledge acquired in some of the best institutions in the world to shape policies and advise on their implementation.

The president prayed to God to grant eternal rest to the deceased and comfort his family.
